Every week, women would gather. Students of different ages, different backgrounds and in different programs. We would meet in Merici Lounge to discuss our days and topics that came up in their week. Whether it was struggles with classes, roommates, or life, we could relate to each other through these conversations. It allowed for everyone to hear other individuals’ perspectives which was diverse. Therefore, allowing people to reflect and consider new possibilities. A time for people to vent, it was also a time of laughter and joy. We could forget our stresses for a bit, just enjoying snacks and refreshments, along with others’ company. It was a chance to meet people and connect on a level past academic study. This was just one of many community-building activities Brescia offered, something that helped make it a home more than a school.
