Since 2017, Brescia has been engaged with the internationally recognized architectural firm, HDR working diligently to design our state-of-the-art Academic Pavilion. Dathe Wong, Principal Architect on the project, sat down with Dr. Colleen O’Connor, Associate Professor and Undergraduate Coordinator of Nutrition and Dietetics in the School of Food & Nutritional Sciences and Marianne Simm, Vice Principal of Students to discuss their experience with food science education, research over the years, and what leadership means to Brescia. The interview highlighted key themes such as the shift to active learning, the importance of industry engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration in today’s educational landscape, and the value of current trends such as “science on display.”
