As soon as Ashley Ellis visited Brescia University College during her high school university tour, she knew Brescia was the right fit for her. Like her close-knit community in Bermuda, she felt a sense of belonging within the diverse campus.
With a wide range of scholarships and awards for international students – and a great incentive to apply – Ashley was fortunate enough to receive the Caribbean Partner Award, International Tuition Award and Building Residence Community Award.
Now a second-year student majoring in Psychology, Ashley appreciates Brescia’s supportive and welcoming atmosphere. “One of my favourite aspects of Brescia is the community. From international culture lunches to puppy play dates, Brescia houses an abundance of opportunities for students to get involved, on and off campus.”
Ashley’s one piece of advice for students considering studying abroad at Brescia is to remember “there is always someone here to help you—from academic issues, to wanting to change majors, even to helping you set up a bank account. All the staff are incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything in order to make the transition as smooth as possible.”
Ashley is proud to be a part of Brescia where she can “Choose to Lead” and has the power to think “outside the box” as a leader in her community. “Brescia supports individuals to express their opinion and there is no shortage of leadership positions at Brescia.”
