2013 Spring/Summer Courses

Interested in enrolling in Summer Courses in 2013? Here is the information you need to know:

There are four different summer sessions:

• Distance Studies - Independent online study
  • 12 weeks full course (1.0) May 6 -July 26 (exams July 29-August 1)
  • 6 weeks first term half course (0.5) May 6 - June 17 (exams per instructor)
  • 6 weeks second term half course (0.5) June 17-July 26 (exams July 29-Aug. 1)
• Summer Evening
  • 12 Week full or half courses May 6- July 26 (exams July 29-August 1)
  • 6 weeks first term half course May 6 - June 17 (exams per instructor)
  • 6 weeks second term half course June 17-July 26 (exams July 29-Aug. 1)
• Intersession
  • 6 Week full or half courses (multiple days per week) May 13 - June 21 (exams June 24-25)
  • 3 week first term half course May 13-June 3 (exam per instructor)
  • 3 week second term half course June 3-June 21 (exam June 24-25
• Summer Day
  • 6 week full or half courses (mulitiple days per week) July 8-August 16 (exams August 19-20)
  • 3 week first term half course July 8-July 29 (exam per instructor)
  • 3 week second term half course July 29-August 16 (exams August 19-20)

When choosing summer courses remember the following:

• A maximum of 3.0 courses can be taken in the spring and summer session
• No more than 2.0 may be taken simultaneously.
  • ie: if you take two intersession courses, or one intersession course and one distance studies course, you have reached a full course load
• if 2.0 courses are taken simultaneously, only 1.0 course may be an honors or laboratory/tutorial course, and only 1.0 may be taken by distance studies.
• Distance Studies courses have 7 approved exam locations - (check summer calendar page 5 for details)
• Add and Drop dates and deadlines come up quickly in the summer so it is very important to consult the summer calendar (pg 16) and the online fee schedules.

Instructions: Registering for Summer Courses

This is a two step process:

1. Summer Activation Feburary 21-July 6 - Log onto studentservices.uwo.ca and click on Summer Activation - this must be completed at least 72 hour prior to registration.
2. Enroll in Courses - Use your Student Center account to enroll in the courses, beginning on the dates listed below.
