Summer Courses

Interested in enrolling in Summer Courses in 2018? Here is the information you need to know:

There are four different summer sessions:

  1. Distance Studies – Independent online study
  • 12 weeks full or half courses May 7-July 27 (exams July 30-August 2)
  • 6 weeks first term half course “A”/”F” (0.5) May 7-June 15 (exams per instructor)
  • 6 weeks second term half course “B”/”G” (0.5) June 18-July 27 (exams July 30-August 2)
  1. Summer Evening
  • 12 Week full or half courses May 7-July 27 (exams July 30- July 31)
  • 6 weeks first term half course “A”/”F” May 7-June 15 (exams per instructor)
  • 6 weeks second term half course “B”/”G” June 18-July 27 (exams July 30- July 31)
  1. Intersession
  • 6 Week full or half courses (multiple days per week) May 14-June 22 (exams June 25-26)
  • 3 week first term half course “A”/”F” May 14-June 1 (exams per instructor)
  • 3 week second term half course “B”/”G” June 4-June 22 (exams June 25-26)
  1. Summer Day
  • 6 week full or half courses (multiple days per week) July 9-August 17 (exams August 20-21)
  • 3 week first term half course “A”/”F” July 9-27 (exam per instructor)
  • 3 week second term half course “B”/”G” July 30-August 17 (exams August 20-21)

When choosing summer courses remember the following:

  • A maximum of 2.5 courses can be taken in the spring and summer session.
  • No more than 2.0 may be taken simultaneously.
  • If 2.0 courses are taken simultaneously, only 1.0 course may be a laboratory/tutorial course.
  • A maximum of 2.5 courses may be taken by distance studies during the summer session
  • Distance Studies courses have 7 approved exam locations (check summer calendar page 5 for details).
  • Add and Drop dates and deadlines come up quickly in the summer so it is very important to consult the summer calendar (pg 43) and the online fee schedules.

Instructions: Registering for Summer Courses

This is a two step process:

  1. Summer Activation  – Log onto Student Centre, and click on Summer Term Activation (located in the column, Student Services Links) – this must be completed at least 72 hour prior to registration.
  2. Enroll in Courses – Use your Student Center account to enroll in the courses, beginning on the dates listed below.
