How do I apply?
If you are applying as a current Ontario High School student, you will apply online as a 101 student through the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC). If you are not currently registered in an Ontario High School, you will still apply through the OUAC website but you would be considered a 105 applicant. Brescia is a separate choice from the University Of Western Ontario and the other affiliates at Western so be sure to select the campus you wish to attend.
International students follow a separate process when applying to Brescia. There is a paper application available on the Brescia web site that allows students to apply directly to Brescia. Students applying using the paper application must include all of their official academic documents and a $40.00 application fee to be considered for admission.
What grades do you look at?
When considering applications to university, there are a number of academic requirements that we look at:
- Admission requirements for Ontario high school students
- University transfer students
- College transfer students
- International admissions requirements
Do you accept repeated courses?
Brescia considers repeated courses as one credit and we will take the highest mark received in the course as your final grade.
What if I don’t meet the admissions average?
If you do not meet the cut off averages for your program of choice, there are still options available to you. If you wish to upgrade any courses through summer or night school, we will accept all upgrades conditional upon receipt of your final transcript before August 31, 2012.
If you feel your admissions average was adversely affected by some extenuating circumstances, you may submit an Application Profile.
The Application Profile offers you a chance to explain why your average falls below our admissions requirements. Your application will then be considered with both academics and personal circumstances in mind.
How do I apply for scholarships?
The majority of Brescia’s entrance scholarships are automatic, meaning no application is required. However, there are a handful of awards and scholarships that can be applied for on the Brescia web site. These include the Community Leader Award and the Wolfe Family Scholarship.
When will I hear from you?
Admissions are a rolling process at Brescia University College. You will first hear from Brescia via electronic notification that we have received your application. This notification will be sent as OUAC notifies us of your application or we receive your paper application. Beyond an initial acknowledgment e-mail you will receive communication on an ongoing basis indicating whether or not the admissions team requires further information or when the first round of offers will be sent out.
How do I activate my Brescia email account?
All applicants are able to create a Western Identity. This identity provides you with a University of Western Ontario email address. In order to obtain your new email address you first need to obtain your Access Code. You will require your Western Student Number, your Social Insurance Number (SIN) and/or your OUAC application number.
Once you have your Access Code you can obtain your Western Identity username and password from Information Technology Services (ITS). To complete this step, you will require your Western Student Number and your Access Code (from step one, above). You will then be provided with a username and password that will allow you to access your Brescia email account.
