Girls LEAD Barbados

Girls LEAD Barbados 2012

Girls LEAD Barbados is designed to provide girls with the tools to become an exceptional leader amid a fun, supportive, and educational environment. Girls LEAD Barbados began in 2010, and ran for four consecutive summers during the period of 2010-2013. Brescia partnered with our alumnae, students and local supporters, to make this camp a truly transformational experience for all who participated.

Brescia is thrilled to announce the re-launch of Girls LEAD Barbados, beginning in summer 2019.

Camp Objectives

Girls LEAD is designed to create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment where girls feel free to express themselves and question the world around them. We create a space where girls are encouraged to try new things, be creative, and have fun.

Campers also create their own healthy snacks and lunches that are based on Brescia’s well-known Foods and Nutrition program, to help the girls learn how to make educated food choices; while incorporating locally sourced foods and culture.

Transition to careers and postsecondary education will be explored through discussion and self-exploration activities.

Camp Programming

Programming is divided into three key areas:

1. Celebrate Yourself
2. Connect with Others
3. Make Change
