Communities of Practice

ALT Centre Communities of Practice bring small groups of instructors under a shared purpose. Full-time faculty, contract faculty, and instructional staff are all invited to participate.
We currently have three communities of practice:

    Cool Teaching Ideas (CTI) is Brescia’s teaching community of practice – an informal discussion group for all things teaching.

    Our Scholarship of Teaching and Learning community of practice brings together faculty and staff researching teaching and learning.

    Instructors teaching mathematics, statistics, and computational courses across the disciplines are invited to join this community of practice, focused on teaching statistics online.

Suggest a new ALT Peer Community, or learn more about our 3 existing groups, by emailing brescia.curriculum@uwo.ca.

New community suggestions:

  • Disciplinary Peer Communities, for those looking for peer mentorship within their School or department
  • Contract Instructor Community, where Brescia’s sessional faculty can come together, on evenings or weekends, to discuss their courses
  • Student-Teacher-Learner Communities, where students outside your program assist with developing teaching and learning activities
