OWL Design

Brescia has two OWL templates for you to choose from. Not only are these templates beautiful and easy to use, but they incorporate online learning best practices. In particular, the templates use Brescia colours, images and fonts, and twelve blank lessons for you to customize with your own content.

Choose a template

The Simple template is best for instructors looking for a 'plug and play' course site. Simply edit the sample content with your own course information and you're good to go.

The Advanced template is for instructors who are comfortable with adding and editing OWL Lessons features. We also recommend using the Advanced template if you want two 'layers' of Lesson subpages (e.g. Landing page: Week Pages: Lesson pages).

Request a template

To request a template, email In your email, indicate:

  • Your name
  • Your course number (e.g. FN 1070 Sec. 530)

  • A member of the Dean's Team will be in touch to add the template.

Support with OWL templates is being provided by Beryl Ivey Library, so please do not directly email Mike (Thanks!).

Revise your template

Dean's Team Request Form

For online course assistance and more immediate help from Brescia staff, please create a ticket through our online form (website). The Dean's Team will triage your request either to members of our team or the appropriate group on main campus.

This form is triaged by Mike and Heather. We anticipate a heavy workload in August, so your questions may be answered by another member of the Dean's Team, including the Beryl Ivey Library staff.

We're all working together to make sure every course is ready to go for September!
