Reconnect in the Piazza

On March 21st 1474, a young woman named Angela Merici was born in the small Italian town of Desenzano, in the Republic of Venice. Growing up in the 16th Century, Angela Merici witnessed great suffering of the poor in society, and the corruption of moral values. Yet, she kept great faith and grew up learning poise, wisdom and grace.

Each year on January 27th, we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Angela Merici, who founded the Ursuline Sisters that established Brescia University College. Now known at the patron saint of sickness, disabled and physically challenged people and those grieving the loss of parent, we celebrate and offer our prayers to St. Angela Merici for her boundless courage, remarkable bravery and tremendous foresight.
