Brescia University College to celebrate the unveiling and grand opening of state-of-the-art Academic Pavilion

London, ON – Brescia University College will inaugurate a new century of learning, research and leadership with the Grand Opening and Blessing of its new, $14 million state-of-the-art Academic Pavilion at a ceremony on September 3rd, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.

Designed by the internationally-recognized architectural firm HDR, Brescia’s almost 30,000 square foot light-filled Academic Pavilion will capture the best in educational design. Built by local construction firm Tonda Construction, the Pavilion includes three state-of-the-art food and nutritional science laboratories, sensory and research laboratories, two multi-tiered classrooms, informal study spaces and an active learning classroom designed for dynamic group work to support Brescia’s growth aspirations.

The Grand Opening and Blessing event will include speeches from: Brescia’s Principal, Dr. Susan Mumm; Community Leader of the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham, Sr. Theresa Campeau; Brescia University College Board of Trustees Chair, Karen McKay; London Deputy Mayor, Councillor Jesse Helmer; HDR Principal of Education, Science and Technology, Dathe Wong and Brescia Student, Ka Yan Cheung. It will conclude with a special blessing by London’s Bishop, Ronald P. Fabbro and a ribbon cutting ceremony. A reception and self-guided tours will be available immediately following the formal ceremony.
