All the world’s a stage at Brescia’s 13th annual Cultural Festival

January 21, 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

London, ON – On Thursday, January 23rd, Brescia’s St. James Auditorium will be transformed into a world stage of song, dance, food, art and poetry, including a fashion show of cultural attire in celebration of Brescia’s 13th annual Cultural Festival.

The goal of Brescia’s signature international event is to increase global awareness within the University community, while providing a venue for its students to share and celebrate their unique cultural traditions. Since launching in 2007, Brescia has watched the Cultural Festival grow and diversify, which is a reflection of the school’s growing international student population.

Building on the success of the previous year’s event, local vendors and restaurants will once again be generously donating a variety of global food. CultureWorks: English as a Second Language School students, along with Brescia students, will host multiple displays though a “human library” showcasing their various cultural backgrounds.

There will be a series of performances by the London Chinese Dance Club, Rising Moon Belly Dance, Western’s Faculty of Music and some of the Western University student cultural clubs. Members of London’s community agencies will also be present, including the London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership (LMLIP).

The Cultural Festival takes place on Thursday, January 23rd from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Brescia’s St. James Auditorium. Admission is free.
