A faculty member of Brescia since 1988, Dr. Diemert has been a full Professor since July 2006.
Dr. Diemert's main areas of academic interest are British and American literature from the first half of the twentieth century. He is also interested in detective fiction and cultural studies.
In his years at Brescia, Dr. Diemert has taught a host of courses including both the first-year courses, courses in literary theory, and honours courses in Twentieth-Century British and Irish Literature and in American Literature.
He has also offered several fourth-year senior seminars in the work of Graham Greene, F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Virginia Woolf, Ian McEwan, Detective Fiction, Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes, Cold War Literature, and more.
In 2019-2020, Dr. Diemert will be teaching courses in The Storyteller’s Art I, Literary Theory and History, Twentieth and Twenty-First Century British and Irish Literature, and a seminar on British Women’s war novels.
