Students Planning their dual degree plan

Dual/Combined Degree Planning

Brescia is pleased to partner with the Faculty of Health Science and the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western to offer combined degree programs with the 4-year (Honours) Bachelor of Science (Foods and Nutrition), Honours Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics and either the 3-year Bachelor of Arts, Major in Health Science or Major in Kinesiology or the BA in Honours Business Administration.  Students planning to pursue a combined degree option will work closely with their Academic Advisor to ensure that they are completing the necessary requirements for admission or progression in the program.

It is important to note that because Brescia's Honours Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics module is accredited by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP), and prepares graduates for application to a dietetic practicum program that can lead to registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the professional regulating body, the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO), students MUST apply for and be registered in Foods and Nutrition as their first degree, whereas their BA and Major in Kinesiology, Health Science or Business Administration is their secondary degree and module.

Admission into the combined degree is requested through the Intent to Register (ITR)process in a students first year of studies (Feb-March).  Students should contact the Hive at Brescia to book an academic advising appointment to discuss admission and progression in the combined degree and to have a manual ITR form completed.  Adjudication decisions are available in mid-June each spring.
