Have you been looking for a way to contribute to making your community greener? Here are our top 10 tips!

1. Join A Community Garden

2. Out Your Light Bulbs
Switch out any incandescent light bulbs with LEDs. These are both energy efficient and have a longer lifespan than incandescent bulbs! LED light bulbs are also 100% recyclable. By making this easy change, you are helping the environment, and over time will be saving money in your pocket!

3. Carpool
When possible, try carpooling to work, school, or anywhere that isn’t within walking distance. Taking public transit or sharing a ride with a friend is a great way to reduce emissions and reduce your carbon footprint.

4. Buy Local
By buying local, you support your community and reduce the amount of emissions to get your food to your home. Try shopping at a local farmers' market or even a grocery store that actively stocks local produce and other foods.

5. Compost
Reduce the amount of waste that is contributed to landfills by composting. Think of all the coffee grounds, banana peels, and eggshells that are thrown out in the trash. By composting, you are helping reduce the amount of trash and can help the soil in your community thrive!

6. Recycle
By now, we all know how beneficial recycling is. But remember, you should also recycle batteries, computers, and phones in the appropriate places in your city. Recycling can also be selling your old technology that is still in working condition on Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace.
