What inspired you to join the LEAD WITH US campaign as a volunteer?

Brescia provided me with an excellent start to my academic journey and since then I have been both impressed and inspired in the incredible ways Brescia is developing the next generation of women leaders and global citizens. I am proud to volunteer and see it as a great privilege to support the LEAD WITH US Campaign.

Why do we need to support women’s education?

Whenever you see women advancing in society and breaking through gender barriers, education is always a critical component. As Canada’s only women’s university, at a time when girls and women continue to face challenges, places like Brescia University College are creating a space for women to learn, to own their voices and their power, and meet the challenges of tomorrow. Education is key to empowerment.

Why is a women’s only university still relevant today?

Women continue to be underrepresented in both political and professional leadership positions. When more women move into leadership roles, they become a role model to others. Brescia not only provides a world-class educational experience for women; it also provides incredible opportunities for women to recognize their leadership potential, to hone their leadership skills, and to understand there is more than one way to lead. Brescia is empowering young women to find their voices and provide a place to grow and to lead.

As long as women remain underrepresented in all major political offices and top business leadership positions, we need universities like Brescia where young women can find the support and encouragement they need to take risks, push boundaries and succeed personally and professionally.
