Compassion is core to Brescia's Ursuline mission of educating young women to lead with wisdom, justice and compassion.
Brescia students lead with compassion and empathy, developing competency in awareness--of
their community and surroundings.
Brescia students lead in many ways, where at times, it's not about standing in the spotlight, it's about shining the light on those in
need.
Brescia students are actively engaged in their community and work to create an environment
where leadership is a shared responsibility.
Meet third-year Sociology student, Sophie Young. Discover how Sophie leads together with compassion, through her involvement in the community.
I would consider myself to be a compassionate leader! Through various involvements at Brescia, I try to guide, influence and support my peers and campus community through a shared passion and commitment for the University's mission, vision and values.
Three words come to mind: incredible, diverse and inspiring! Brescia’s all-women’s learning environment consistently challenges me to think critically, speak thoughtfully and learn boldly.
The piece of advice I would give to students who want to lead boldly is to fully immerse yourself into the Brescia experience. This includes participating in your classes and clubs on campus. We can learn so much from fellow student’s, faculty and staff when we get involved.
I choose to lead together in my community by committing myself to helping others and to strive to always put my best foot forward.
