Bursaries

Bursaries are non-repayable, taxable grants issued to students who demonstrate financial need. Bursaries supplement students’ primary sources of funding such as OSAP, bank loans/lines of credit, the student’s own resources, and/or those of the parents/spouse.

Eligibility

  • Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada, or a Protected Person
  • Be registered at Brescia in a full-time or part-time program
  • Demonstrate a genuine financial need

Types of Bursaries

Fall/Winter Bursary Assistance

This general bursary provides financial assistance to students attending Brescia during the Fall/Winter academic year.

Deadline to Apply: October 15th, annually. However, the application remains open throughout the Fall/Winter term until the funding is spent.

Summer Bursary Assistance

Bursary assistance is available during the Spring/Summer term for students registered in courses.

Eligibility: Students must be registered in a minimum half credit (not Distance Studies) at Western during the Summer term and must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident. Note: Students who are registered in a 0.5 Distance Studies course only, are not eligible to apply for funding.

Deadline: July, annually.

Bursary for Students with Disability

This bursary helps full and part-time postsecondary students with the costs of their disability-related educational services and equipment. By submitting a BSWD/CSG-PDSE application, you may receive assistance for the disability-related accommodations you need, such as note-takers, tutors, interpreters or technical aids while you’re in postsecondary studies.
