To help you better understand yourself and what meaningful work means to you, we offer one-on-one appointments, as well as career group advising sessions and resume & cover letter advising support. We believe that career planning is life planning, and our team is here to help with all of it. Let’s talk!
Appointments are 30-mins with one of our Career Advisors in Student Life.
In your first appointment, they will outline the kinds of topics, discussions, and work you can accomplish together. They will also go over the types of career support that would be most useful to you in helping you get from where you are to where you want to be. Based on the goals you identify in your first appointment, our Career Advisors will guide and support you in moving towards them.
Resume & Cover Letter Advising is a drop-in service, driven by the Career Peers in Student Life. This service is focused on peer-to-peer support for students seeking help with resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles.
Career group advising sessions provide you with the opportunity to engage in a supportive, small-group conversation that guides you through career problem-solving and ways to research a variety of career paths related to your discipline.
Facilitated by one of our Career Advisors, the conversation will use ideas, suggestions, questions, and stories from the group to personalize actions for attendees.
We ask all students to respect the following policies regarding our career advising appointment service:
If you arrive 10 or more minutes late for your career appointment, the Student Life Centre will determine if the appointment can continue.
