Resume & Cover Letter Advising

Resume & Cover Letter Advising offers drop-in services driven by the Career Peers in the Student Life. These services are focused on providing peer-to-peer support for students seeking help with resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles.

A group of highly-trained student leaders and career exploration ambassadors, these are one-on-one services delivered through virtual drop-in hours each week and e-advising over email.

Career Peers are able to provide on-the-spot or e-feedback for the following questions:

  • Resume content and formatting (i.e. appearance and relevance of content)
  • Cover letter content and formatting (i.e. appearance and relevance of content)
  • LinkedIn profile feedback
  • CV and personal statement feedback

In-Person and Virtual Drop-In

Career Peers are happy to provide students with constructive feedback on resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, CVs and personal statements. If you are updating your resume for a job or volunteer opportunity, please share the link to the position of interest during your one-on-one drop-in. This helps the Career Peers ensure they provide you with helpful tips to get your resume tailored, polished, and looking its best. 

In-person drop-in hours will be offered out of the Student Life Centre (MSJ 119) and virtual drop-in hours can be accessed using the following Zoom details:

Hours of Operation

Mondays - 12pm-2pm EST
Tuesdays - 2:30pm-6:30pm EST
Wednesdays - 9:30am-11:30am EST
Thursdays - 12:30pm-4:30pm EST

*Note: These are the Winter 2022 drop-in hours, available from the week of January 17th-April 8th. Drop-in hours are not available during Reading Week.
