The Professional Mentoring Program is an opportunity for upper-year students in any
discipline to be matched with a mentor, who may be a Brescia alumna or community member.
Mentoring is a great way to increase your communication and networking skills, help
you prepare for your future career and transition into the professional work force,
and is an opportunity for you to develop your skills while learning from someone else’s
experiences.
Mentees work closely with their mentor and Student Life Centre durning the academic
year to develop and maintain a positive and supportive mentoring relationship.
As a mentee you become a part of the program’s diverse cohort of students that are
all working towards their personal and professional goals, as well as developing the
skills needed to successfully navigate the job market. A great mentee understands
that there is a lot that we can learn from those in the professional world, they have
a desire to grow and develop a professional network, and seek opportunities to challenge
oneself in order to enhance skills and abilities.

The Student Coordiantor role is an enriching student leader opportunity, usually filled by a student who has previously participated in the Professional Mentoring Program as a Mentee. This paraprofessional role assist the Coordinator, Student Life and Learning in administering all aspects of the Professional Mentoring Program. The Student Coordinator will assist with program administration, program development, event facilitation, hiring, training, and cohort development.
