Centres and Outreach
Brescia has many long-standing community partnerships and we are committed to community action focused on building and maintaining relationships, including academic/community initiatives, fundraising, and community events.
Brescia students, staff, and faculty represent the College within the London community through their activities, volunteer work, research, programming, and course-related initiatives. These activities enhance our creativity, enrich our communities, and nurture individual responsibility. Connection with a larger constituency expands our awareness and channels our compassion.
Current Initiatives
DIVA DAY at Chelsey Park Retirement Community
Community Development students interact with seniors during what would normally be their class time. Rather than attending a lecture they participate in Service Learning, an experience that takes them to a non-profit agency in the London community. This group of students provided fun and manicures to seniors. The other half of the class took down the life history of some of the seniors at Chelsey Park, including aspects of their youth and the things that they remember as significant to them.
