Canadian High School Student Scholarships

All of the above scholarships are automatic and guaranteed to students graduating from Canadian high schools. All scholarships are based on final admission averages and are automatically renewable for a total of four years*. Board of Trustees Continuing Scholarships are awarded in July; all final grade information must be received no later than July 13, 2018 for eligibility.
Arts & Humanities Entrance Award
For students entering Year 1 of an Arts & Humanities program. Award is valued at $1500 for students with a minimum 80% admission average. This award is automatic and comes with a full-time offer of admission (if applicant is eligible), applied to the 2018-2019 academic year. Recipients must register in 2.0 Arts & Humanities courses at Brescia. Award may be held in conjunction with a Brescia entrance scholarship.
Program Entrance Awards: Family Studies, Management & Organizational Studies, and Social Sciences
For students entering Year 1 Family Studies, MOS or Social Science program. Award is valued at $250; students must have an 80% admission average as calculated by Brescia’s Admissions Office. Program awards are automatic and come with a full-time offer of admission and is applied to the 2018-2019 academic year, and may be held in conjunction with a Brescia Entrance Scholarship.
Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Entrance Awards
For incoming students who have completed a SHSM in the subject areas of:
Arts and Culture, Business, Health and Wellness, Non-profit, Sports, Justice and Community Safety.
The SHSM award is a one-time award valued at $2,000; no application required. Students must have an 78% admission average as calculated by Brescia’s Admissions Office, and be entering full-time studies for the 2018-2019 academic year. The SHSM award may be held in conjunction with a Brescia Entrance Scholarship.
*Scholarships and awards are applied directly to fees owing and will appear as a credit on your tuition invoice. First installments are thereby reduced by applicable scholarships and awards. If your tuition is assessed on a per course basis your scholarship and/or award will be prorated accordingly.
*In order to retain a continuing scholarship, recipients must maintain an 80% average on 5.0 courses taken concurrently in the September to April term while registered at Brescia University College.

International Entrance Scholarships are automatic and guaranteed based on final admission averages as calculated by Brescia. Entrance scholarships are renewable in subsequent years. In order to retain a continuing scholarship, recipients must maintain an 80% average on five full courses taken concurrently in the September to April term while registered at Brescia University College.
The Arts & Humanities and all program based awards (Family Studies, MOS and Social Science Awards) are applied to the 2018-2019 academic year; students must be registered in full-time studies (5.0 courses).
Application to the Sister St. Anne Lachance Scholarship is not automatic; eligible students should complete and submit the Sister St. Anne Lachance Scholarship form.
Maple Leaf Community Leader Award- Two awards valued at $2500 each for students studying in MLES high schools. Maple Leaf students should complete and submit the application form and all documents to the Registrar’s Office, Admissions by April 1st, 2018.
Ursuline Scholars International Award- One award valued at $2280 for an international student entering Year 1 through4. International students should complete and submit the application form and supporting documents to the Registrar’s Office, Admissions by May 1st, 2018.
Ursuline Scholars Preliminary Year Award- Two awards valued at $1750 each for students entering Brescia’s Preliminary Year Program. Students must submit the Ursuline Scholars Preliminary Year Award application form and all required documents to the Registrar’s Office, Admissions, by May 1st, 2018.
Building Residence Community Award- One award; two awards available if more that five applications are received by Brescia. A room in Brescia’s residence is awarded to an incoming student(s) who demonstrates leadership and community involvement. Approximate value $7300; deadline to apply is May 1st, 2018.

Hong Kong Partnership Award– One award to a student entering Brescia from one of our Hong Kong partner schools. Award is valued at $2500; applicants should submit an application form and documentation by May 1st, 2018 to the Registrar’s Office, Admissions.
Caribbean Partner Award – Unlimited number of awards, granted to international students entering Brescia from the Caribbean. Awards are valued at $1500 for Preliminary Year; $2000 for Undergraduate; $3000 for MOS. Award is automatic; no additional application is required.

The CAAT and CEGEP scholarships are automatic and guaranteed to students applying from an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) or a Collège d’enseignement général et professionnel (CEGEP) and who will be pursuing full time studies at Brescia in their first year. CAAT and CEGEP Entrance Scholarships are non-continuing (one time) awards.
The Brescia U.S. Transfer Award is open to students transferring from a post-secondary institution in the United States. Application is found here; deadline for submission of all documentation is June 1, 2018.

BresciaLEAD Excellence Award deadline: May 1, 2018
The BresciaLEAD Excellence Award has a value of $5,000 (applied to the current year of registration). One award will be made each year to a full-time incoming Brescia student. Applicants are asked to provide information about extracurricular involvement in their school, as well as volunteer and leadership positions they have held in their community. Applicants must submit a brief essay explaining how they have contributed to their community, and what leadership skills they have learned from their activities. The incoming student may hold the BresciaLEAD Excellence Award in conjunction with an entrance scholarship. For more information or to apply, see the BresciaLEAD Excellence Award application.
Community Leader Award deadline: June 1st, 2018
The Brescia Community Leader Award is given to four deserving students that have demonstrated involvement within the school and/or local community. Application for a Community Leader Award is not automatic; eligible students should submit a application along with two letters of recommendation before June 1. These awards are open to both Ontario and non-Ontario applicants and may be held in conjunction with an Entrance Scholarship. Brescia National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS)Award deadline: May 1st, 2018
The Brescia NSHSS Award is offered to incoming students who belong to the National Society of High School Scholars. Applicants must complete a profile outlining their academic and extracurricular involvement; this award may be held in conjunction with a Brescia Entrance Scholarship. Wolfe Family General Entrance Scholarship deadline: May 1st, 2018
The Wolfe Family General Entrance Scholarship is given to an incoming student from an Ontario High School that has demonstrated school and/or local community involvement and has been involved in physical fitness/athletic activities over the past year. Application for the Wolfe General Entrance Scholarship must be accompanied by required supporting documentation by May 1st. Access the complete application form here.
Brescia U.S. Transfer Award deadline: June 1st, 2018
Brescia is pleased to offer an award to students transferring from a post-secondary institution in the United States. The Brescia U.S. Transfer Award is valued at $5,000 each. For additional details and application information, access the application online and submit documentation to the Admissions Office no later than June 1st, 2017.
Brescia SHSM Award
The Brescia SHSM Award is an automatic entrance award given to incoming students that have successfully completed a Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) in the areas of: Arts and Culture, Business, Health and Wellness, Non-profit, Sports, or Justice and Community Safety. The one-time entrance award is valued at $2000; students must be registered in full-time studies and meet minimum admission requirements. The SHSM award may be held in conjunction with a Brescia Entrance Award.
Sibling Book Award
Families who have two or more siblings registered at Brescia University College within the same academic year are eligible to receive $250 per student to be applied to their Brescia Personal Invoice. To be eligible, students must have the same “permanent” mailing address outside of the academic year. Each student should sign and complete the Sibling Book Award application (only one application required per family). Please submit to the HIVE at Brescia on an annual basis.
