The ALT Centre is pleased to offer services and programs that support Brescia’s delivery of high-impact learning practices, our adoption of an outcomes-based education model, and classroom teaching strategies that improve student learning.
We hope that faculty and staff members, instructors, and course assistants feel free to approach the ALT with all of their teaching needs.
The Affiliate Teaching and Learning Conference was developed to bring together faculty and staff for discussions on teaching and learning in small classroom and small campus environments.
Our Faculty Institute Days offer professional development related to teaching and learning for all Brescia instructors, including contract faculty and instructional staff.
ALT Centre Communities of Practice bring small groups of instructors under a shared purpose. Full-time faculty, contract faculty, and instructional staff are all invited to participate.
Cool Teaching Ideas (CTI) is Brescia’s teaching community of practice – an informal discussion group for all things teaching.
The ALT Centre offers confidential individual consultations to faculty or staff members or departmental consultations on a wide variety of learning and teaching topics.
Teaching circles are a short-term commitment for long-term gain allowing members to affirm their teaching practices, develop community and identify personal teaching goals.
The ALT Centre and the Beryl Ivey Library work together to enhance Brescia's educational mission through offering a wide range of curriculum support to Brescia's faculty.
ALT Centre programming will focus specifically on online learning. We encourage all Brescia instructors teaching in fall 2020 and winter 2021 to engage in any or all of the following learning communities through our three streams.
