London Camp

Please note: Brescia University College has made the decision to cancel the Girls LEAD Camp for summer 2020. With the current health precautions and restrictions, the day camp program as it is designed will not be able to take place.

The London Camp is located at Brescia University College, Canada’s only women’s university. This is an unparalleled capacity to tap into powerful research and resources to host an interactive leadership camp based on fun, friendship and inspiration. Additionally, located on Brescia’s beautiful 85 acre campus bordering the Medway Valley Heritage Forest, our LEAD-ers will be exposed to exceptional green space and curious wildlife.

Leadership development

The theme explores leadership to support and inspire others to be good leaders. The focus is on encouraging girls to look beyond themselves, to strengthen the relationships around them and improve the world in which they live. We want to prepare them to engage in leadership roles at home, in their school, the city in which they live, and even the global community.

Lunch & Lead Nutritional Program

Our LEAD-ers participate in a fun and interactive nutrition program that increases food literacy, cooking skills, kitchen safety and basic meal preparation. Our lunch program:

  • Is included in the cost of the Girls LEAD
  • Is a nutritious and interactive lunch program where girls will have the opportunity to prepare meals in Brescia’s Food Labs
  • Is taught by Brescia’s Food and Nutrition students and supervising faculty
  • Accommodates dietary restrictions (Please provide as much detailed information as possible on the Girls LEAD registration form. We will contact you if we have any additional questions or concerns)

Girls CAN

In inspiring future young leaders, Girls LEAD invites women in the London community to talk about their leadership experience in their careers. LEAD-ers participate in an interactive discussion which aims to empower the girls to create bold change and make a difference in The Forest City.

Making Change

Together, we give back to the City in Making Change! If able, LEAD-ers are encouraged to collect canned goods to support London’s abused women’s centre, Anova. Each year, this initiative demonstrates the importance of being an active member within a community.
