Students with in-person classes will get an automatic email reminder to fill out the online questionnaire prior to visiting campus; however, all students must submit this questionnaire if they are coming to campus for any reason.

Do I need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to access Brescia's campus?

Yes. On August 25th, Brescia, Western, King's and Huron strengthened vaccination requirements . All students, faculty, staff and visitors must provide proof of vaccination to access campus this fall. Testing in lieu of vaccination is only available to those with a medical or Ontario Human Rights Code exemption. 

The policy takes effect September 7th, 2021. You will have recieved email communication from Western outlining how you can submit proof of vaccination.

How will courses be offered in fall 2021? 

Pending public health guidelines, Brescia plans to offer approximately 80% in-person learning and 20% virtual learning. This not only provides our campus with a greater degree of safety, but ensures maximum flexibility and choice for our students.  Additionally, it ensures that our students and faculty will not have to encounter dramatic shifts in course delivery and can feel confident and prepared for the course path selected.

Brescia recognizes this is an especially challenging time for our students, some of whom are facing significant financial challenges as a direct result of COVID-19. We are working to identify and respond to students with immediate short-term financial concerns.

As fall plans are developed, the health and safety of Clare Hall residents and our campus community continue to guide our decisions. This fall, Brescia will require all students living in Clare Hall and all community members on campus to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 vaccine. Do I need to be fully vaccinated to live in Clare Hall?

Students must have at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to more into Clare Hall. However, all students need to submit proof of vaccination by October 12, 2021. Western University is now offering on campus vaccinations, to book an appointment, visit Western's COVID-19 website.

When and how do I provide proof of being vaccinated?

All students have recieved email communication from Western outlining how  proof of vaccination can be submitted.

There will also be a vaccination verification station at Clare Hall move-in.

I do not want to or am not able to receive to COVID-19 vaccine. Can I still live in Clare Hall?

Exemptions will only be granted to students who cannot be vaccinated for medical or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Does the type of vaccination received matter? Will a vaccination received outside of Canada be accepted?

Residence students can receive any Health Canada approved vaccine. A World Health Organization (WHO) approved vaccine for international students will also be accepted. Vaccination documentation will be required for all students.

Will Brescia turn away students from Clare Hall if they cannot provide proof of vaccination upon arrival?

Students who cannot access their first COVID-19 vaccine before arriving on campus will have 7 days following their move-in date to get vaccinated on or off campus. Students who have not been vaccinated with a first dose within two weeks following their move-in date, or who have not been granted accommodation to this requirement, will not be permitted to remain living in residence.
