Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be a Baccalaureate ceremony in 2024?  With the Western integration occuring on May 1, 2024, there will not be a traditional Baccalaureate ceremony prior to Western's Convocation for Brescia students on June 17th. Instead, Brescia will be hosting a Ring Ceremony for Brescia students on April 9th, 2024. Registration to that event can be found here

Will there be something for Brescia graduates on Brescia campus on Convocation day? Yes. Western will be organizing a pre-Convocation march down Brescia Hill and a post-Convocation reception for 2024 Brescia graduates. For more information, please see the Western Convocation FAQ page found here.

What is the difference between Convocation and applying to graduate? Graduatating is the completion of your academic requirements to complete your diploma/certificate. You must apply to graduate before you are eligable for Western's Convocation where you will walk the stage to receive your diploma.

How do gown rentals work? Gown rentals happen through Western. For everything you need to know about Convocation Day, please see the Western Convocation webiste found here.

If I choose not to or cannot attend Western Convocation, how do I receive my diploma? Your diploma will be available for in person pick up from Student Central at Western for 3 business days following your scheduled ceremony. If you cannot pick up your diploma in person, you can arrange to have it mailed. More information can be found here.
