Before you Arrive

Early Summer (May - June)

  1. Number one.

    Activate your Western Identity and Email

    In order to activate your Western Identity and begin using Western email, you will need your student number, OUAC number and access code.

    If you do not know your access code, visit Western's Access Code Retrieval. For this step, you will need your student number and OUAC number.

    Once Western Identity is activated, you can to log into your Student Center account and Western email. In mid-June, checking your Western email daily to not miss important messages. It is the official means of communication for Western and Brescia.

  2. Number two.

    Upload Your Photo for Western ONECard

    The Western ONECard is more than just a photo ID card; it’s your official student identification card. It also acts as a bus pass, Campus Recreation membership, meal plan card, library card, exam ID verification and potential door access and vending machine purchases.

    To receive your during Residence Move-In Day and Orientation Kick-Off Day ONECard upload your photo to the Student Centre by August 15.

  3. Number three.

    Secure your Study Permit

    If you are an international student, you may need to apply for a study permit before you can begin your studying in Canada. It can take weeks or months to process your application; therefore, apply early or when you receive your Offer of Admission.

  4. Number four.

    Apply to Live in Residence

    As part of your Offer of Admission, you will receive an offer to live in Brescia's residence, Clare Hall. Please complete the Residence Application and pay a non-refundable deposit of $800 before June 10. After this date, spaces will be allocated based on availability.

Late Summer (July - August)

  1. Number five.

    Plan your Schedule and Register for Classes

    Draft my Schedule is a tool for Western and Affiliate undergraduate students to build a conflict-free timetable. Once you have created your class schedule, view your appointment date and formally register for classes in the Student Centre

  2. Number six.

    Attend Summer Orientation Days

    At your SOD, you will have the chance to learn about academic choices, financial aid, select your courses with an Academic Advisor, and map out your timetable. Additionally, you will have the option of taking a campus tour and can meet current Brescia students.

    Apply for Financial Aid

    At Brescia, we believe that financial concerns should never stand in the way of an empowering education. To support you, we have plenty of scholarships, awards, and bursaries available for our students.

    Additionally, government loans and grants are available for Brescia students. To apply, visit the Ontario Student Assistance Program

  4. Number eight.

    Pay First Installment of Student Fees and Tuition

    Your first tuition installment is due early August and paid directly to Brescia. To review your invoice, visit your Brescia Student Finances Account.

  5. Number nine.

    Register with Accessible Education

    If you’re a new student with a documented disability (i.e., learning, ADHD, mental health/psychiatric, sensory, physical, medical), register with Accessible Education on main campus to make arrangements for personal academic accommodations.

    Save the Dates - Orientation Programs

    As a new student (including recent high school graduates, transfer, and mature), you will experience Brescia’s orientation programs created to introduce you to life at Brescia. 

    • Bridging Week takes place the last week of August, just before Orientation Week, and is for all incoming international, exchange, and out-of-province students.
    • Orientation Week begins on Labour Day. It is for all new students to Brescia. There, you will be paired with an Orientation Leader to help guide you through your first year at Brescia.
