Explore a brand-new program that will help you stand out as a food scientist and chemical engineer. Brescia is partnering with Western University’s Faculty of Engineering to prepare women to graduate with a degree in Chemical Engineering (BESc) and Foods & Nutrition (BSc). After five years, when you will attend courses at both of our prestigious campuses, you will be ready to work within the foods, agricultural and manufacturing industries, contributing your brilliance to making the world a healthier and more sustainable place.
Increasing pressures on food resources affects food distribution, product nutrition and population health on a global scale. Food industry producers, manufacturers and distributors require an understanding of how to better utilize resources and how to develop and implement sustainable packaging to minimize pollution at the source. Brescia and Western have created this program, so women can be more fully represented in STEM and ensure their voices are heard when shaping our way forward.
Graduates from this innovative five-year program could be responsible for designing the types of ingredients and products that will address the world’s most pressing needs. Beyond developing your knowledge and skill set to protect and preserve the environment, your two degrees will position you for a rewarding career – in every sense of the word. Some of the career options you may be able to explore include:
We believe in the potential of this program – and our students – so much, we are expanding access to ensure more women can take part in this transformative approach to education. If you are interested in this program but missing the prerequisite courses, we will support you to acquire them during your first year at Brescia.
