ABC Online Course Design Workshop

Western University invites Brescia instructors to join their storyboarding course design workshop. Synchronous and self-guided options are both available. Details and asynchronous materials are posted on the Centre for Teaching and Learning website.

The goal of ABC Online Course Design is student-centred rapid course development. We are recommending this process for instructors looking to shift their course from in-person to online.

Workshop Outcomes

Create a storyboard of your current course design
Adjust your storyboard for an online or blended course design
Identify next steps for finishing your storyboard and using it for course development

The Centre for Teaching and Learning at Western University and the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at Ryerson University have adapted these materials for the transition to remote and online instruction, and are available for individual and team use at both universities and beyond.

Crash Course in Online Teaching

Join the ALT Centre's workshop in designing your online course. Using the ALT Centre's six steps to online course design, participants will leave the workshop with a course map and a beautiful OWL site, ready to populate. Designed specifically for contract faculty teaching in September, all Brescia instructors are welcome to attend.

Format

This workshop has two components:

Pre-workshop homework, to be completed asynchronously on your own time (45-60 mins)
Synchronous Zoom meeting (2 hours).
Pre-homework instructions, Zoom details, will be emailed to registrants August 7, 2020.
